Martín Musaubach, also known as Musa, is making his Canadian debut at the Yardbird Suite with his long-time musical compatriot, Dino Dominelli. They first performed together in Taiwan in 2012.
Musa is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and producer from Argentina, now based in Taiwan. He has performed with the biggest names on the Mandarin and Cantonese pop scene. He toured in support of his debut album “3690” throughout South America, Japan, China and Taiwan. He has also toured with GRAMMY-nominated artist Gerald Albright, Quincy Jones, Anita Baker, Phil Collins, George Garzone and Jeff Kashiwa.
Musaubach’s 2017 recording ”All Kinds of Good” received eight nominations including three at the prestigious Golden Melody Award (Chinese GRAMMY’S) as Best Producer, Best Album and Best Composer and five nominations at the Indie Golden Melody Award as Best Instrumental Songs, Best Album, Best Jazz Album and Best Musician. Musa won Best Jazz Album and Musician of the Year. He is the first western solo artist to be nominated and win in any of these categories in the history of the ceremonies.
Award-winning saxophonist Dino Dominelli is a highly-recognized Canadian jazz musician and composer. He has been featured on albums with highly acclaimed artists across the world and in Canada. He has shared the stage with notable and legendary musicians such as Kurt Elling, Don Thompson, Bobby Curtola, Bobby Taylor, and the Four Tops just to name few. Dino has also served as the musical director for the Sands Casino Las Vegas situated in Macau China.
