Following his two critically acclaimed releases for Tzadik Records, Israeli-born, New York-based saxophonist/composer Uri Gurvich, who's been described as "a major new voice in jazz" (All Music Guide), celebrates the release of his third album "KINSHIP" on the French label Jazz Family.

The new project presents original work influenced by Gurvich's multicultural heritage as the son of Argentinian immigrants to Israel, and by his global band featuring musicians from around the world. A celebration of many traditions, this project deals with tribal and familial connections between different cultures and individuals and represents "KINSHIP" in various forms.

Making his third appearance at the Yardbird Suite, Gurvich and his quartet havde performed across the U.S., Europe and South America including performances at the Village Vanguard, NYC Town Hall, Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, DC Jazz Festival, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Red Sea Jazz Festival, Ecuador Jazz Festival and more.

“Jazz is an indigenous American art form, but it is also a thoroughly global enterprise. And few of the music's practitioners embody its universality more completely than saxophonist Uri Gurvich."
Phil Lutz, Downbeat

“Transcends borders”
Chris Barton, Los Angeles Times

“Uri Gurvich and his crew are true citizens of the world, spreading messages of love and oneness through the music”
Dan Bilawsky, All About Jazz
